The oil filter
The oil filter belongs to pipeline primary filter series and it is used to filter coarse particulate matters in the gas or other mediums. It is mounted in the pipe and used to remove coarse solid impurities in the fluids. It enables the machinery equipments(compressor, pump, etc) and instruments to work properly, and reaches the purpose to stabilize craft process and safeguard safe production. The basket filter is mainly used to filter materials such as stainless steel multi-orifice, stainless steel mesh grid and stainless steel sintering mesh, etc. It can be customized as per the requirements of clients(special pressure and caliber).The basket filter has many advantages such as large capacity to receive pollutants, the ability to bear high pressure and to be installed and cleaned conveniently, etc.
The introduction of the oil filter
According to the filter precision ,(the size of the particles from which the impurities have been filtered out )it can be categorized into four kinds: coarse filter, common filter, precision filter and ultra-precision filter. They can respectively filter out the impurities with the diameters of above 100μm,10~100μm,5~10μm and 1~5μm.
Matters needing attention
Some points should be considered when selecting the oil filter
Filter precision should meet the predetermined requirements. It can keep enough flow-capacity for a long time.The filter element has sufficient strength and will not be damaged due to hydraulic effect.The filter element has good corrosion resistance and can work enduringly at specified temperature.It is simple and convenient to rinse and replace the filter element.
Therefore, the model for the oil filter should be chosen according to the technical requirements of its hydraulic system and conditions such as filter precision, flow capacity, working pressure, oil viscosity and working temperature, etc.
2.The installation sites for the oil filter in the hydraulic system are usually as follows:
(1) to mount on the inlet port of the pump
The surface type oil filter is usually fixed on the oil entry of the pump, the purpose of which is to filter out bigger impure particles to safeguard hydraulic pump, moreover, the filter capacity for the oil filter should be two times larger than pumping capacity, and pressure loss is below 0.02MPa.
(2) to mount on the oil exit of the pump:
The purpose for mounting the oil filter here is to eliminate the pollutants which will probably intrude into the element such as valves, etc. Its filter precision should be 10~15μm and it can bear working pressure and surge pressure in the oil way. The pressure drop should be below 0.35MPa.Meanwhile, the safety valve should be fixed lest the oil filter be blocked.
(3)to mount on the return oil loop of the system
The kind of installation can acts as the function of indirect filtration. The filter is usually installed in parallel with a counterbalance valve, whichwill open when the filter blocks to a certain pressure values.
(4) to mount on the branch oil loop of the system
(5) independent filter system
The large hydraulic system can provide a independent filter loop made of a hydraulic pump and an oil filter.
In the hydraulic system, apart from the oil filter needed in the entire system, a fine oil filter with specialized purpose is oftenindependently mounted on the front of important components(such as servo valve, precision throttle valve, etc)so that they can work properly.
