The steering gear
The steering gear is a kind of large deck machinery. Its size is decided by the deck outfitting, and the deck outfitting is decided by the norm of classification society. The marine steering gear is adopted with electro-hydraulic device, that is, the hydraulic equipment is operated by the electrical equipment in a remote-control manner. It has two kinds: one is reciprocating plunger-type steering gear and its theory is that its linear motion is done by the inter conversion from high-pressure oil to low-pressure oil and work, and its strength is changed into rotational movement. The other is rotating vane  steering gear and its theory is that high-pressure oil and low-pressure oil acts on the rotor directly. It has advantages such as small in size and high efficiency and disadvantages such as high cost, etc.
