1 The general
1.1 This operation instruction applies to 240kN electric winch.
1.2 The electric winch is mounted on the deck for mooring a ship.
1.3 The winch complies with CCS rules for the classification of sea-going steels hips (2009) and in accordance with the requirements for mooring winches (GB/T4446-1995).
1.4 The working principle of electric part is to be seen in the manual to electric plan.

3 The structure
The winch is mainly composed of motor, reducer, coupling, man shaft, braking, clutch, wall support, pedestal and so on. All components are installed on the pedestal. Main components' structure are as follows:
3.1 The reducer device
The reducer is cylindrical reducer. The input axis is connected by coupling and motor, there is a small gear in the output axis, it will drive with the big gear which is installed on the main shaft device.
3.2 The main shaft device
It is made up of the crown gear, shaft, drum, clutch and bush, etc. The vice drum is mounted on the one side of the main shaft, the end is fixed by bolt screwing. Drum slip bushing with clutch is on the main shaft, beside of the drum. The clutch and the main shaft is connected by hexagon, separate the clutch jaw and the drum jaw by operating clutch hand shank.
3.3 The brake device
It is common belt type brake, it is consisted of brake belt, screw shaft, handle, pin and so on. The brake belt is riveting by steel belt and compound belt. The up and down brake belt is connected by pin. Pilled-in selvedge is fixed by tight plate and winch pedestal. Trapezoid screw is mounted on the top of the brake belt, one side has trapezoid bolt, the other side has brake hand shank. Brake is clockwise hand shank, loose is anti-clockwise hand shank. Loose the brake once the winch is working.
4 Working procedure
4.1 Mooring rope(up)
a) electromagnet blackout
b) start motor
c) close the motor after finish mooring rope.
4.2 Throw rope
a) start the motor, after 2-3 seconds, stop it
b) electromagnet power on
c) start motor
d) close the motor after finish mooring rope
e) electromagnet blackout
The winch should be operated in good lubrication condition to reduce wear between the friction faces of the moving parts and prolong the service life. So it is of a great importance to check lubrication condition of the mooring winch frequently.
5.1 Every oil cup should be filled with grease, and filling grease to every friction face periodically. After filling oil, the anchor windlass &mooring winch should race idle for a moment so that the grease will distribute well to every friction face.
5.2 Replace the oil in the reducer box(usually 6 months), to make sure the grease is clean.
5.3 Keep all non-working faces clean and often coat antirust paint on the exposed surfaces to prevent them against rusting.
5.4 Often check the every part to see if it is in malfunction and the every bolt to see if it is in loose state.
6 Assembly and disassemble
6.1 Disassemble procedure
a) Dismantle wire rope.
b) Dismantle spring couple between motor and reducer, dismantle the motor.
c) Dismantle brake.
d) Dismantle the bearing cover on shoulders,and take down shaft.
g) Dismantle the reducer cabinet.
If necessary, other parts shall be dismantled continuously.
6.2 Assembling procedure:
The procedure of assembling is just opposite to disassembling one.
